‘EKO comes to MOK’ Summer Camps 2020
COVID-19 Government Guidelines
As an OFSTED registered childcare provider, MOK will adhere to all COVID-19 government guidelines for Out Of School Settings (OOSA) as we carefully plan and risk assess our summer holiday offer.
On arrival at each MOK Holiday Club families will be asked to confirm that there have been no symptoms of COVID-19 displayed by any individual in their household, or in any household that they have socialised with, in the previous 2 weeks.
Handwashing & Cleaning
There will be regular opportunities for children to wash their hands under running water and equipment and public areas will be cleaned regularly.
Public Liability Insurance/DBS checks
Your children whilst in our care are covered by the insurance of Ministry of Kids (MOK). All adults leading and assisting in MOK have been DBS checked and have attended First Aid training.
Cost & Payment
Our 2-day MOK Holiday Clubs cost £70 each. In line with government school guidelines we are creating bubbles for each MOK Holiday Club with the same 15 children and 3 leaders. Although your child does not need to attend all both days, no other children will be allowed to join the bubble on the second day so the cost will remain the same.

Full payment needs to be received within 7 days before attending MOK and a 50% nonrefundable amount will be kept if your child is unable to attend due to COVID-19 symptoms or illness.
Your child’s place is not confirmed until payment has been received.
What happens if someone becomes unwell during a MOK Holiday Club?
If a leader or child becomes unwell or shows symptoms of a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste of smell (anosmia), they will be sent home.
If a child is awaiting collection, they will be moved to an area which is at least 2 metres away from other people and remain under supervision.
If they need to go to the bathroom while waiting to be collected the bathroom will be cleaned and disinfected using standard cleaning products before being used by anyone else.
PPE will be worn by staff caring for the child while they await collection if a distance of 2 metres cannot be maintained (such as for a very young child or a child with complex needs).
If it is an emergency, we will call 999 if they are seriously ill or injured or their life is at risk. We are not allowed to take them to a GP, pharmacy, urgent care centre or a hospital.
If a member of staff has helped someone with symptoms, they do not need to go home unless they develop symptoms themselves or the child subsequently tests positive. They will wash their hands thoroughly for 20 seconds after any contact with someone who is unwell.
What happens if there is a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19) at a MOK Holiday Camp?
If a child or staff member develops symptoms compatible with coronavirus (COVID-19), they will be sent home and advised to self-isolate for 7 days and arrange to have a test to see if they have COVID-19. They can do this by visiting NHS.UK to arrange or contact NHS 119 via telephone if they do not have internet access. Their fellow household members should selfisolate for 14 days. All staff and children who are attending a MOK Holiday Club will have access to a test if they display symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), and are encouraged to get tested in this scenario.
Where the child or staff member tests negative, they can return to the MOK Holiday Club and their fellow household members can end their self-isolation.
Where the child or staff member tests positive, the whole of that MOK Holiday Club bubble will be sent home and/or contacted and advised to self-isolate for 14 days. The other household members of that group do not need to self-isolate unless the child or staff member they live with in that group subsequently develops symptoms.
As MOK Holiday Clubs will be observing guidance on infection prevention and control, which will reduce risk of transmission, closure of the all MOK Holiday Club bubbles will not be necessary.
Should MOK have to cancel a 2-day Holiday Club then all monies will be refunded in full. If only the second day is cancelled, we will refund 25% of the full payment.
Cheques made payable to Ministry of Kids can be sent to Astol Farmhouse, Norton, Shifnal, Shropshire TF11 9EW within 5 working days of your chosen date.

Food & Drink
In line with government school guidelines we are not currently allowed to provide food and so children will need to bring in their own packed lunch and snacks. We will offer campfire snacks e.g. s’mores, popcorn and hot chocolate at the end of each day. Please send your child with a water/juice bottle to keep them hydrated throughout the day. Water will be available to refill bottles.
Children will need to wear weather appropriate outdoor clothing with sturdy trainers or walking boots/wellies if wet. Long sleeves and long trousers are the most appropriate and protect from sun, stings and scratches. Waterproof coats with hood and waterproof trousers are required if rain is forecast. Please check weather in the morning. Please ensure that all items are clearly labelled.
We would recommend that children come to MOK in fresh clothes each day to prevent cross contamination.
Please do not bring phones or any electronic games to MOK. We cannot be held responsible for these items if they are left or broken. They will be too busy to need them and if they need you we will phone you ourselves.
We expect all children to respect their leaders and their peers as well as the property of others. We do not allow abusive or obscene language or aggressive behaviour or speech towards others. Any behaviour issues must be included on the booking form so that MOK leaders can have the correct strategies in place to keep the session running safely and smoothly.
